NYC Elected Officials

Talking to elected officials can be intimidating. You feel so strongly about libraries, but what should you say? Urban Librarians Unite is trying to make this easier for you with our new Elected Officials Database. We’ll be starting with the City Council, and expanding out to the State Assembly, State Senate, and Federal representatives over the next few months.

NYC City Council

The City Council database is like having your own Governments and Communications professional right on your phone. You can look up your City Council Member, find out what is important to them, what committees they are on, and what kind of work libraries do that might appeal to them based off of that information. There are talking points already assigned to each of them as well as information about notable library programs and collections right in their district. This is the ultimate constituent visit tool, use it today to leverage for libraries in your community.
