For library workers, by library workers: real stories, real tools, real life.
Library workers are producing real knowledge every day through programs, conversations, partnerships, and the trial-and-error of doing the work. Most of it never gets written down, and when it does, it often has nowhere to go. Not everything needs to be said in an academic journal format, with a higher barrier to entry. We wanted a lower-stakes way to be part of the professional conversation for all library workers at any level – this press exists for everything in between.
We publish practitioner-centered writing: case studies, field reflections, op-eds, and original art from people doing the work.
What we’re looking for:
- Case studies from programs, pilots, or partnerships — successes and honest failures alike
- Written reflections on frontline practice, advocacy, or organizing
- Op-eds on the issues shaping library work right now
- Original art and visual work grounded in library life
What we’re not: An academic journal or press. We’re looking for practitioners willing to put an honest idea into the world with your original voice.
