Also there need to be at least 100 people in the room to meet a quorum for a bylaws vote that would bring NYLA’s bylaws into compliance with the Non -Profit Revitalization Act. So seriously, Roll your ass out of bed and show up in your jammies, no one cares, it’s 8am, also your jammies are adorbs.

Libraries as Public Asset

David Giles of the Center for an Urban Future will discuss his recent work on the libraries in NYC. Through their finding and David’s 2 brilliant reports they changed the conversation about libraries in New York City.
Battledecks & LipSync Battle

Battledecks is back! And yes, the rumors are true! Additional competitors are invited to participate in the first-EVER pop-up LIP SYNC BATTLE at the event! Come one come all to the 2015 New York Library Association Conference in Lake Placid where on Friday, October 23rd from 5:30-7:00pm in the 1932 Shea Arena – the same space as the Trade Show – Battledecks competitors and Lip Sync crooners will take to the field!
It is NOT too late to sign up for glory. Step up to volunteer as a contestant for either Battle (or both if you’re a badass):

$10 gets you in the door, with the opportunity to sing our heart out or just hang out.
Donate a little bit extra, and you’ll get to sing a little bit sooner.
Donate $10 and you can put your friends in for songs that they will have to outbid you to not sing.
Donate $100 and you’ll get VIP treatment. You’ll get to the front of the line each time you want to sing or total karaoke immunity. We’ll even give you a tee shirt.
And yes, there will be prizes!
All funds raised will go directly to the New Yorkers for Better Libraries, a political action committee urging New York’s elected officials to support state funding for libraries.
