EDIT: Thank you so much to all of our donors. We are NO LONGER accepting donations of books. We have a few storage units full and need to finish processing them. If you would like to help, financial donations are most welcome  and will be used to cover storage and transportation of materials to the Mini Libraries that are set up in the affected areas.

The response to our Children’s Book Campaign for the victims of Hurricane Sandy has been incredible. People and organizations across the country have jumped on board and are organizing their own local campaigns to help us. We have Brownie Scouts in California, libraries in Massachusetts, and families from all over working together to get books and materials to the kids and libraries that were hit by the storm. We currently have over twenty local campaigns in place.

These Daisy Scouts Did Their Part!

You Can Do It Too!

It is really easy to arrange a campaign in your community and we are here to help you get started. We have a campaign kit prepped in order to help you set up and organize your own children’s book drive.

The details are simple:

  • We are collecting new and gently used children’s books
  • The campaign will run until January 1, 2013
  • Some materials will seed damaged library collections. Most books will be directly delivered to kids and families hit by the storm.

All materials should be shipped to:

The campaign is barely two weeks old and it is already going strong. We have already received and distributed nearly 1,000 books. But we need your support and the support of your community to keep this effort going!
