Why are School Libraries Important?
Because students today need more help than ever learning to evaluate what information is credible. Any idiot with an Internet connection can pretend to be an expert, but a librarian can show you how to vet your sources.

How has a School Librarian or Library Impacted You?
My son’s school librarian runs a homework club after school for the kids who need somewhere to study. She also provides research help at those times. His grades have never been so good.

How Does the Work of School Libraries Impact Your Work as a Library Professional or Person?
School librarians often refer students to us for materials they don’t have. I often trade reader’s advisory and read-aloud ideas with a friend who works at an elementary school.

For the first time we are seeing strong language protecting School Libraries in national education policy. ESEA is up for a vote and this bill will be CRUCIAL to the future of school libraries, a section of the profession that has been under assault for decades. An Assault on One is an Assault on ALL. Stand up for School Libraries in America TODAY!
